  2. The Movie Scene • This song is based on Tarzan trying to fit in and growing into adulthood , doing animal like things to fit into the jungle where Tarzan lived everyday of his life. He is a human being living with gorillas , he has problems with himself because of it. This song is based on Tarzan finding himself as an human being , living the life of an ape. Tarzan learns how to be an ape from his childhood to adulthood. • The song “son of man” was written and performed by Phil Collins in 1998. The single version of "Son of Man” is two minutes and forty six seconds long and it peaked at #68 on the German Media Control Charts as well as at #96 on the French Singles Chart.

Even though, it gets more upbeat, it does not change the past of the song, and keeps the same rhythm throughout. • The dynamics change. Crescendos and decrescendos are throughout the whole song.   5. Instrumentation • Phil Collins vocals made this song. The African instruments made the beat fit the movie scene. • A piano, organ, guitar, cello, flute, violin, clarinet, trumpet, viola then come into play towards the end of the song.

  6. Evaluation • This song is based on Tarzan growing up in the jungle with gorilla's , trying to find a role. Tarzan finds himself unable to keep up with them, and takes great efforts to improve himself. The song and scene shows the things he does to gain respect and acceptance from the village. This scene also shows the growth period of Tarzan.
