High speed digital systems laboratory המעבדה למערכות ספרתיות מהירות Abstract In this project I build a Flash Memory controller, which support standard Open NAND Flash Interface on one side and allow accessing the data in memory from the other side. MLC NAND Flash is used in commercial and industrial applications that require high performance and long-term reliability. Some applications include industrial grade Compact Flash cards, USB drives and Solid State Drives (SSDs). 2

LM4F120H5QR – microcontroller with CPU @80 MHz (100 DMIPS) Cortex-M with FPU, 256KB Flash, 32KB SRAM, 2KB EEPROM, UART, SSI, I2C, CAN 2.0 A/B, USB 2.0, µDMA, Timers, Six physical GPIO blocks, 12-bit ADC, A/D comparators, JTAG with SWD • Software Microcontroller Firmware basic functionality: read, write, erase, send ONFI commands to memory device 4
