  2. 1. Church – what? • Church = Christian Religion • Church = Gathering of the Piest • Church = Life giving agent of God

  3. 1.1. Life – for whom? • Christians - Church; • Christians and some others; • The world.

  4. 1.1.1 Life in Christ is our Life. • Extra ecclesiam nulla salus – Life is in Church only! • Inward focussed Church; • The Church serves US.

  5. Inward focussed Church • Nonkonformistic; • Exclusiv; • Ethnokonfessional; • Attraktional; • Eskapistic; • Hierarchical.

  6. 1.1.2 Life in Christ is Life for the World • Joh. 3,16: • Missio Dei – Salvation is cosmocentric (2Cor. 5,18f).

  7. 1.1.3. The global task of the Church • Joh. 20,21! • Mt. 28,19-20) – ta etne – send to transform nations! • Church – God´s new nation (1Petr. 2,9-10): genos – ethnos – laos. • Ecclesia – called to be responsible for the world (Mt. 16,17)! • The Church of the NT is externally focussed!

  9. 2 Church in Context • Is missional – she exist for mission Eph. 2,10; 4,12; • Is messianic – she works for reconciliation and transformation of the world (2Cor 5,18ff); • Is wholistic – she consideres the whole of mankind (Mt. 28,19-20).

  12. 4.1 The Principle of Incarnation • John 1,1ff: The Word of God becomes Flesh/Human and Humans see God´s Glory

  13. 4.2 The Principle of the Body • Body of Christ – Fullness of God on Earth (Eph. 1,23) • 1Cor 12,4-6: The Spirit = Gifts there after The Lord = Ministries thereafter God = Transformative Energy

  14. 4.3 The Principle of Planting • The Korn must fall into the Ground and perish in order to become Bread! • The Church must return to the World in order to change the world; • The World is the only soil where the Church can become fruitfull.
