  1. The Foundations of the Christian Mind Tim Stafford First Baptist, Eustis, FL. Cross Training - July/August, 2009

  2. Session 3 – Awareness of Evil The Foundations of the Christian Mind

  3. I Peter 3:15-15 (AMP) Key verses for the foundation of our study But in your hearts set Christ apart as holy [and acknowledge Him] as Lord. Always be ready to give a logical defense to anyone who asks you to account for the hope that is in you, but do it courteously and respectfully. [And see to it that] your conscience is entirely clear (unimpaired), so that, when you are falsely accused as evildoers, those who threaten you abusively and revile your right behavior in Christ may come to be ashamed [of slandering your good lives].

  4. The 5 Marks of the Christian Mind

  5. Romans 1: 25-32 (AMP) Key verses for the foundation of our study Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.  For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:  And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.  And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

  6. I Peter 5:8 (AMP) Key verses for the foundation of our study Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring [in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour.

  19. In Closing • Resist the bait and switch concepts of evil that Satan is peddling. Evil is not always in a red suit. • A counterfeit truth is far more dangerous than a contradictory one. Contradictory truths spawn conversation; counterfeit truths spawn a dense darkness. • Realize that evil is rarely relative when it comes to the innate moral compass within humans. • An awareness of evil is important to find the subtle messages that are the most damaging.
