Understanding Teen Health: Risk Behaviors and Genetic Links

This lesson addresses the critical health behaviors that adversely impact teenagers and explores the genetic factors influencing health. Students will identify six key risk behaviors that they have control over, while also discussing one external health factor beyond their control. Additionally, they will learn about genetic diseases and how to use standardized pedigree symbols to map family health histories, allowing them to create a personal health tree using the provided resources. Engaging with family members will help enrich their understanding of hereditary health issues.
