Regional Waste Disposal Sites: Enhancing Environmental Sustainability in Bulgaria

This project, funded by the 10th Cohesion Fund Monitoring Committee, focuses on the development of 5 regional waste disposal sites in Montana, Ruse, Sevlievo, Silistra, and Sozopol. With a total budget of 54,519,761€, the aim is to improve waste management infrastructure and practices. The project includes detailed designs, technical specifications, and closure plans for 14 existing dumpsites. As of December 31, 2010, financial execution stands at 91%, demonstrating strong progress towards achieving environmental goals in Bulgaria. This initiative receives 75% assistance from the CF (Regulation 1164/94) and 25% national co-financing.
