  2. Purpose: • In this game, players practice finding the total number of sticks and bundles in their playing hand. This game allows students to draw on their knowledge of counting by ten’s and one’s.

  3. Materials • Playing Board • Pawns for each player • Dice • 30 bundles of sticks • 5 players (one player should be the banker only) • Second and Third Graders

  4. Mathopoly Game Board

  5. Supplies

  6. How to Play • The aim is for one player to have the most money. • Each player begins the game with three bundles and their pawn is placed on the payday. • The first player rolls the dice and moves their pawn to the spot that matches the number on the dice. • Each player will follow the directions on his/her occupied space and receive or pay sticks accordingly.

  7. First Roll

  8. “Chance” Space • If a player lands on a “chance” space, he/she will follow the directions in the middle of the game board. • They will need to Roll The Dice, then find the correct number in the box. • The player with the most “sticks” at the end of the game wins.
