  1. How Dry Cleaning Works |Todd Fennell Pittsburgh

  2. What are Drycleaning ? Dry cleaning is any cleaning process for clothing and textiles using a solvent other than water. Dry cleaning still involves liquid, but clothes are instead soaked in a water-free liquid solvent, tetrachloroethylene (perchloroethylene), known as "perc," the most widely used solvent.

  3. There are 5 Steps of Drycleaning 1. Inspection and tagging 2. Pre-spotting 3. The dry cleaning process 4. Post-spotting 5. Finishing

  4. Inspection and tagging You take your item to the nearest dry cleaner near you, and the dry cleaner puts a tag on your item. This is also done again when your clothes are examined for stains, missing buttons, tears, etc. All the things mentioned on the tag need to be sorted.

  5. Pre-spotting Once you have dropped off your garments, the cleaners typically go through a pre-spotting process where a chemical solvent will be applied. Then by vacuum cleaning or heating, the stains on your garments are removed, and it is a significant step of dry cleaning.

  6. The dry cleaning process Your garments are placed in a machine and submerged in a non-water-based solvent after they've been pre-spotted. The cloths are then rotated in a perforated cylinder with tiny holes through which the cleaning solution is continuously pushed out during the procedure.

  7. Post-spotting Your dry cleaner will analyze your garments for any lingering stains or residue and remove them using the pre-spotting method. Make sure your textile stains aren't as challenging to remove as dry cleaning.

  8. Finishing After your clothes have gone through the completely dry cleaning procedure, they are gone through steam ironing. This is crucial because it makes your clothes look fantastic, just like a new one.
