  3. Allies Trenches Up until 1915 Trench foot was a common disease in the ally trenches The Allies had a rough trench life, There were lots of frogs, Rats, And lice, Lurking in the trenches.

  4. Axis Trenches • The Germans trenches were the nicest of all of them. • They had a lot of upgraded technology, That the allies did not have. Like beds and Water pumps. They also were built to last.

  5. Artillery gun (Allies) Artillery Weapons (Axis) During the trench warfare, Both sides would use Big Artillery guns to shoot at each other from long distances. So they wouldn’t have to pop out of the trench to shoot.

  7. Other methods of war The trench warfare didn’t last the whole war. Other methods were used like, Planes, Some vehicles, And on foot. Eventually the trenches died out.

  8. Why were they built? The trenches were built as a safer and cheaper way to fight the war, Without having as many casualties as walking on foot and shooting at each other. And they were built to allow the soldiers to have the option to retreat if necessary. They also server as a home for both sides. Though some thought the war would last only a few months. They were very wrong. The axis. (Germany and Italy) had nicer trenches. And knew the war was going to last for longer than anticipated.

  9. How were they built? The trenches started with 1 small hole in the ground, That would be expanded depending on the amount of men fighting at that specific area. At first the men weren’t given shovels. But when the first men started to die, They gave them shovels to dig for cover. In the German trenches, Parts were covered with cement. To protect the insides .

  10. Gas attacks in the trenches. • At first the Germans used chlorine. But then they moved onto more dangerous chemicals. Like Mustard gas. Which would cause bleeding, blistering, skin decay, And blindness. • The issue with the chlorine was that there was no way to treat a soldier who had be hit with it. They would usually slowly die from suffocation.
