  3. E-Bulgaria • Computer usage • 1/3 of population • Daily usage – 8.5% • Internet usage • 21% of population • 16.3% of users – for communication • Students: games, music, movies • Average age of internet users – 31 years E-learning in Bulgaria

Online and offline Education • High Schools • 48% students have access to a computer • Lack of integration of computers as part of the teaching process. • Only 6% of the teachers have computer literacy • Universities • 8 computers per 100 students as an average • 56% of students use computers and/or internet every day E-learning in Bulgaria

  5. Lifelong e-learning • 13% of students in universities take part in some kind of e-learning processes. • 68% realized platforms for e-learning • Only 1.3% of population (Age 25-64) takes part in e-learning. E-learning in Bulgaria

  6. Perspectives for the future • Summary and trends • In the past 2 years, internet access at schools has reached 36%. • The growth in e-learning for 2005 is 23%. • In May 2005 the government distributed 20,000 computers in schools E-learning in Bulgaria
