This guide explores the transformative journey of salvation through regeneration, justification, and adoption. Often referred to as the "new birth," this spiritual awakening is essential for those who are spiritually dead and seek to find life in Christ, as described in John 3:3-8 and Ephesians 2:1. Salvation is a divine act of God, and through faith, we are cloaked in the righteousness of Christ. By believing the gospel, we are welcomed into God’s family, becoming His children and receiving His promises.

What Happens When We Are Saved? REGENERATED JUSTIFIED ADOPTED This is sometimes called the “new birth.” We are spiritually dead and need to be made alive in Christ (John 3:3-8; 2 Cor. 5:17; Eph. 2:1). This is a declarative act on God’s part. We are clothed with the righteousness of Christ when we believe (Rom. 3:21-26; 2 Cor. 5:21). When we believe the gospel, we become members of God’s family (Rom. 8:14-17; Eph. 1:13, 14; 1 John 3:1).
