  2. What and Why • WHAT: Students will use databases to perform useful and reliable searches on an assigned project. • WHY: Databases provide reliable information using appropriate searching techniques and critical thinking skills.

  5. Why should I use a research or article database? Article Database Internet Costs money (“free” database--Pioneer)‏ Free Current Might be current Articles pass through an editorial process (author, editor) No editorial review More stable location--can access easily Might be stable….. Locations may move Usually reliable information (Some articles may contain bias) Some information unreliable
