  1. I took this image with the intention to use it for my front cover. I consider the use of colours to connote a very vibrant personality to my model which can help to put emphasis on the fact that Soca is a cheerful genre. Likewise, the costume elegantly drapes down to create a very soft look. Furthermore, I chose to use a mid shot so that facial features could be exhibited well as well as the choice of costume and accessories. Additionally, the space around the image allows me to add text without covering the image too much. Nevertheless, I believe that I could have left some space at the top so that the masthead does not cover a vast amount of my model’s head. However a common convention I have seen on various magazines is a masthead which covers quite a lot by the model’s head, although the title can still be recognised. Moving on, using Photoshop I added a diffused glow filter so that the lighting was enhanced more. In this image I used another mid shot as I believe it is an effective way for facials features to be shown clearly as well as posture. My model has one hand placed on her hip to show that she is spontaneous and somewhat proud. Her head is slightly tilted up to show that she is confident. This suggests that artists in the music industry have a sense of pride about their careers. Moreover, I have made sure that there is enough space for the mast head to be inserted without my model covering it too much. Furthermore, I have once again used a diffused glow filter from Photoshop to enhance the lighting.
