  5. A New MasterRomans 6:15, 16 “Do you not know that if you present yourselves as to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness?” Romans 6:16

  7. A New MasterRomans 6:17 - 19 Slaves to Sin • Born as slaves to sin • Our will swallowed up and held captive to the will of sin within us • Bondage to sin so strong that only dying with Jesus on the cross could break that bondage • So enslaved to sin that we served it to the disregard of our own interest, even when it destroyed us. Slaves to Righteousness • Born again, as slaves to righteousness • Our will swallowed up in the will of the Father, only His will matters • Bound to Jesus with bonds that only death can break…those will never be broken…death defeated • We willingly serve Jesus to the disregard of our own interests.

  8. In His ImageRomans 6:17, 18 “But thanks be to God that you who were once slaves of sin have become obedient from the heart to the standard of teaching to which you were committed, and having been set free from sin, have become slaves of righteousness.” Romans 6:17, 18

  9. In His ImageRomans 6:17, 18

  10. In His ImageRomans 6:17, 18 “You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.” Ephesians 4:22-24

  11. Fresh FruitRomans 6:19-23 “For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. But what fruit were you getting at that time from the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. But now that you have been set free from sin and become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life.” Romans 6:20-22
