  4. Greenwich • They are placed in a huge park, which has two levels • Lower with playgrounds, lake and gardens • Higher on the hill where you can find rose gardens, music pavillon, ancient oak connected with Elizabeht I., deer-park and Royal Observatory with Prime Meridian Line

  5. What is Prime Meridian Line? • It is called „Zero longitude „ • Established in 1884 • Imaginary line connecting South Pole and North Pole from which all other lines of longitude are measured, 180 degrees to the west and 180 to the east

  8. Greenwich • There is not only Meridian line in Greenwich  • In the Royal Observatory there is huge Planetarium, Museum of Watches and Time, Camera obscura and Time ball

  9. Time ball • First public time signal to ships on Thames and Londoners • Each day at 12,55 the ball starts its way up, at 12,58 is on the top and exactly at 13,00 it falls back down
