  2. Aim of the DVDcommunication project • To present the business case to timber company managers to increase trade in legal timber and curb illegal trade. • To influence business2business practice particularly in the far East and USA.

  3. Aim of the DVDcommunication project • To illustrate the changing market trend toward legal timber procurement as a result of environmental NGO pressure, Consumer country government legislation changes, and consumer demand. • To visualise the legal trading message.

  4. FORMAT • Not a documentary but rather a pithy 14 minute series of messages for meetings & communications between timber industry companies.

  5. PRODUCTION • UK Production translated into French, German, Dutch, Spanish and Japanese • A special version for Far East Russia for producers exporting to China • Specially targeted in-country production for China

  6. DISTRIBUTION Available free (in coming months) for users particularly: • Timber companies and industry supply chains • Timber trade federations • Environmental and Educational Institutions • NGOs Contact cidt@wlv.ac.uk for copies.

  7. POSSIBLE FUTURE OPTIONS • Television adverts (<1 minute) for legal timber • Television documentary (60 minutes) to examine in more depth the issues around illegal logging
