  1. Miss Carrie Manfre’s 3rd Grade Class English Project by: Carrie Manfre English Project #1: Your Poetry Booklet Due date: Monday October 3rd Directions: You need to write 5 poems of your own and and collect 5 poems that you find by other authors. Combine the ten poems in a little booklet. You may write on any topic that you choose. A couple ideas are things that you wish for, your favorite hobby, your favorite movies and games, your favorite animals or anything at all. Try to have fun with it bywriting about things that you like. The following provides a few examples of some poems that I wrote myself when I was your age.

  2. Jungle Sounds Jungles have many sounds! There are teasing tigers tumbling, and laughing leaping leopards. There are sneezing slithering snakes and talking parrots that are flying. Why there are climbing giggling monkeys, and excitable elephants that are stomping. Then late at night Jazzy Jaguar yawns real loud, and he tells everyone it’s time for bedtime RIGHT NOW!

  3. Night Fear Scared of the bumps in the night, While I hold my covers tight. The Rain is hitting my window going clickety clack, and reminds me of nails tapping prickety prat. Is that really the rain? Is Someone Out There? Hearing footsteps down below, They rush out quietly on tiptoe, leading to morning.

  4. Carnivals Carnival are places of amusement that have exciting rides and sideshows. Carnivals are filled with treats, such as popcorn and cotton candy. Carnivals have games and prizes that come in all sorts of sizes. Carnivals are so much fun that soon I hope to go to one.

  5. I Wish I wish that school was dance and play, But my teacher would say NO WAY! I wish chores were done by magic, But my parents would say don’t be a dreamamatic. I wish that rain could be money. I wish that I had a pet cat, But my mom cares for one of those as much as she would for a rat. I wish you could get paid for having fun, and that I could play all day in the sun.

  6. Likes and Dislikes I have many likes and dislikes. As swimming in a pool, But not working at school. As acting in a play, But not making a ray. As traveling in a rocket, But not vacuuming the carpet. As playing a funny trick, But not getting sick. As spending some money, But not folding laundry. As playing two-square on the pavement, But not finishing this assignment.
