  1. 5 Tips to make your kids physically active Being physically active helps children in maintaining a healthy weight, developing stronger bones, and discovering the world around them. Moreover, the stretching and outdoor play can be quite amusing for them. Similar to studies, physical activities should be made mandatory for the kids. If not every day, then at least on the weekends, children should be encouraged to play. One of the most important reasons for allowing your little ones to be more physically active is to make them uncover their hidden physical potential and discover the world around them in a better way. This later helps the young ones in developing their overall confidence. Parents play a key role in encouraging their children to participate in the physical activity, ensuring that your kid completes the adequate amount of exercise to maintain his or her health. Below is a list of five ways to keep your kids physically active: 1)Encouraging for Outdoor Fun Encourage your child by sending them for outdoor games and let them be more energetic. A study conducted in 2008 shows that the children who play outside are less likely to be overweight. And, that’s not the only reason, the outdoor play equipment also helps in building strong muscles and healthy bones, as well as in improving self-confidence. Every day either plan to go to a park with your kids to play Frisbee on the grass or encourage your child to ride a bike on a trail close to your home. 2)Spending time with friends If you notice carefully, you will observe that your little one is more active when he is spending time with friends compared to when he is on his own. In some study done in 2014, activity levels amongst children were analyzed when they were with friends and also when they were all alone. The end results disclosed that more than 54 percent of the kids were more active while playing with a friend as compared to when playing on their own. Arranging weekend play dates for your kiddiewinks gives them the opportunity to play shoot hoops or tag with his friends.

  2. 3)Being a good role model Children will follow your footsteps, so be a good mentor for them. Kids who see their parents physically active become livelier too. You should teach your kids about the importance of being physically fit by doing exercises and playing outdoor games. Lead by example and show your kiddos the commitment by maintaining a regular active regime (workout, yoga or anything). Post dinner, you can go on an evening walk with your family, insisting your children to accompany you. This way you will involve them, and will also have an opportunity of make that walk interactive, active, and a fun session. Besides that, plan any outdoor activity like the bike ride, hiking, etc., with your children too. 4)Adopting a dog While adopting a new dog or pet, you are not just fulfilling your little one’s wish, but you are also making them move around more, hence, making them physically active. It has been observed that children who walked or played with their dogs spent an extra hour being active, each week. This additional exercise of walking with the dog also teaches them about handling responsibility and caring others. 5)Enroll your kids in Sports Motivating your children to take up sports activity in school or after school is a great way to keep them moving and increasing their activity levels. Time spent practicing sport requires a significant amount of physical activity, which is good for keeping them active. Besides these, it teaches kids about punctuality and sportsmanship. So, encourage your kids to play outside. Remember the effort you are putting in increasing your kid’s physical activity now will have a lasting and positive impact on their health in the long run.
