  4. Framing The Session • Many times teachers want to share online resources with their students. • Using del.icio.us will let the iSquad members help their teachers and classmates find online resources.

  5. Teaching • What is social bookmarking? • It allows you to save website links on a website. • It allows you to share your bookmarks with other people. This is helpful to a teacher who wants to point their students to a link. • It is also useful when collaborating with others.

  6. Teaching • Using a social bookmarking site like del.icio.us allows you to see your bookmarks from any computer on the Internet.

  7. Teaching • Open a browser window and navigate to http://del.icio.us. • Click on the login link.

  8. Teaching • Type in the isquad username and password, and click “log in”.

  9. Teaching • You post a link to the del.icio.us account by clicking on the “post” link at the top. • In a new browser window, find a page that you want to save. Highlight the address and copy it. Paste it in the url text box and press save. • Give it a brief description, which becomes the title. More descriptions can be added in the Notes box.

  10. Guided Practice • Now it is your turn to try del.icio.us. • http://del.icio.us. • Find relevant links and post them on your isquad’s del.icio.us site.

  12. Work Time • You will now find useful and relevant sites for your iSquad job. • Copy the address and post them to your isquad del.icio.us site. • Add a description and notes and save it. • Check that the link works. • Use the instruction sheet link on http://del.icio.us/isquad for assistance.

  14. Share • Demonstrate on the SmartBoard some of the bookmarks you added. • Discuss what types of bookmarks you might need in your role as an iSquad member.
