General encoding criteria • Reduce the lexicographer’s margin of subjectivity by setting precise guidelines for the treatment of particular phenomena • Base as much as possible the encoding on corpus data • Find a balance between the encoding of attested structures / senses only and an exhaustive encoding including rare structures / senses as well Nilda Ruimy september 2004
