  1. Dividing Numbers Crossing the GREAT divide

  2. What is a reciprocal? Mixed numbers and integers must be put into improper fraction form to find the reciprocal! When reciprocals (also called multiplicative inverses) are multiplied, the product is +1! Find the reciprocal of these numbers!

  3. How do I do complex fractions? SUPER fractions are the LAZY way of writing the quotient of two fractions! Just remember the fraction bar in the middle means DIVIDE not OVER!!!!

  4. Now you try

  5. Finding Domain of Fractions The denominator of a fractions can NEVER be what number? When finding the domain before, you found what the input COULD be. With fractions you find what the input can NEVER be! This means any input that makes the denominator a 0 can NEVER BE USED!!!!

  6. Your Turn Again!

  7. The dreaded Distributive property When a variable expression is in the numerator, remember the denominator MUST be distributed to all terms!!!!! You can ONLY simplify IF the coefficient AND constant are divisible by the denominator

  8. REAL LIFE and the CRCT A hot air balloon develops a leak and starts to fall to the earth. If the balloon covered a distance of 500 feet in 40 seconds, what was the VELOCITY?

  9. Friday’s Test Problem Part 2 It takes 50 minutes to get where you are going, You can spend t minutes riding the subway at an average speed of 0.5 miles per minute. The rest of the time you spend walking at a rate of 0.05 miles per minute. What distance did you travel?

  10. Individual Practice PWB Section 2.8 Homework tonight is Quiz 3 page 118 Still lost? Do the odd problems from section 2.8 in the text! Check with me tomorrow for problems missed! ALSO have you gone to tutoring this week?
