C2P2: What we’ve done • Awarded nearly $600 million in Grants for 5000+ projects since FY 94-95 • Total Project Costs including local investment worth more than $1.9 Billion, including (C2P2) • $372 Million in Grants from the Keystone Conservation Recreation Fund for 3755 projects • Total Project Costs including local investment – $1.2 billion (Keystone)

  19. BRC Accomplishments • Grants have been awarded every County and to about 50% of PA municipalities • Completed 800+ trail projects • Helped conserve nearly 150,000 acres of open space and critical wildlife habitat • 43% of recreation occurs at local/county parks

C2P2 Accomplishments and Economic Impacts Economic Impact: Substantial! • Great Allegheny Passage: • $40 million in annual direct spending & $7.5 million in wages • Philadelphia (Greenspace Alliance Study): • $40.3 million in economic out-of-towner expenditures • $688 million in increased value for properties surrounding parks

  21. Matching Requirements • Matching funds need to be secure • C2P2 Grants primarily: 50/50 • Federal PA Recreational Trail Grant: 80/20 • Snow/ATV fund: 80/20 (except acquisition 50/50) * Refer to Grant Program Policies on http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/brc/grants/

  23. “Ready-to-Go” Requirements • Most competitive projects are “Ready to Go” • “Ready to Go” Checklists for each project type • Timeline --- 3 years • Discuss with your Regional Adviser

PNDI Receipt Requirement • Review required for most projects-few exceptions • Web based PNDI tool www.naturalheritage.state.pa.us • PNDI receipt required (must be uploaded with electronic application) • Hits do not need to be resolved • Start this review early • Large landscapes and trails require a paper submission • Sign and date form

  28. Project Type Requirements Each project type requires attachments: • Download and save to PC, fill out and upload to Application • Ready-To-Go Checklist • Can’t submit application without completing “required” fields and attaching “required” documents

Project Narrative Questions Question #2: (30 points) Relationship of your Project to State, Regional, County and or Local Plans/Public Engagement • Advance goals of local, county, regional and/or County Greenway or Rivers Conservation Plan • Implements the Statewide PA Outdoor Recreation Plan • Project identified with in DCNR designated Conservation Landscape Initiative or PA Heritage Area • Public Involvement
