Every 15 seconds, someone in the United States suffers a traumatic brain injury (TBI), totaling at least 1.5 million cases annually, with dire consequences including 60,000 deaths and over 373,000 hospitalizations. TBI is the leading cause of death for ages 1-45, affecting millions who live with disabilities. Despite significant financial burdens estimated at $60 billion, funding for TBI research remains low compared to other health priorities. The Ashlyn Dyer Foundation advocates for increased awareness, better clinical care, and societal changes to combat this public health crisis.
