Are you interested in participating in a QRIS? • We are always looking for ways to improve. • Any suggestions or help to improve the knowledge of the child care providers I feel would be a plus • I think that it will better my business • It helps us recognize our strengths & weaknesses & helps us to improve as providers. • I think it would be nice to know if we are on target with what we are doing and make improvements or changes if needed. • It would be a good experience to see where we are doing things well and where we can do things differently. • With Parent Aware not being available to us yet we are always looking for ways to improve our program www.mnchildcare.org

Are you interested in participating in a QRIS? • I would like to see this profession get more attention and would like to see that more providers are taking classes to improve themselves and their business • I think that it is important for providers to held to quality standards. We have these children in our care for many hours and should be teaching them a curriculum. Also, I think this will weed out the good providers vs. the bad ones that seem to plague us in the media. • I want the profession to receive the recognition and respect it deserves. In addition, I want providers to be held to a high standard of care. • We seem to be in a holding pattern with more emphasis on quality, but without resources to make it happen. www.mnchildcare.org

  11. The Environmental Rating Scale Consultant’s position has breathed new life into many area child care programs. Providers may seem to be stuck in doing the same thing every day due to a lack motivation or feel all alone with nowhere to turn. The consultant’s ability to come into a home or center with an unbiased but trained eye, assist in creating a plan for change and then follow up on how well the plan worked has proven to be an outstanding way to support child care providers. It is a relationship based support where you meet the providers on their turf, offer options, and then let the process unfold.
