  2. Jewish Ghettos • During world war 2,ghettos in Europe in 1939-1944 were established by Nazis to confine Jews into tightly packed areas of the cities of eastern Europe, turning them into concentration camps and death camps in the Holocaust.

  3. Nazi Forces • Average daily force of 2,090 well-armed troops, including 821 waffen- SS Panzer grenadier, which was a multi-ethnic and multi national military force, as well as 363 polish blue policeman, who were ordered by the Germans to surround the walls of the Ghetto.

  4. Warsaw Ghetto • Between July 22 and September 12,1942 the German authorities deported or murdered around 300,000 Jews in the Warsaw Ghetto. Secret Service and police units deported 265,000 Jews to the Treblinka Killing Center and 11,580 to forced-labor camps. The Germans murdered more than 10,000 Jews in the Ghetto during the deportation operations. They let 35,000 Jews to remain in the Ghetto, and more than 20,000 Jews remained in there hiding place.

  5. The fighting • On January 18,1943, the Germans began their second deportation of the Jews, which led to the first instance of armed insurgency within the ghetto.jewish military
