  2. Cliff diving • The least complicated extreme sport • What you need: cliff, water, courage

  3. There are few tips how you can try this sport, when you don´t want to get hurt or killed: • 1. the water must be deep enough Ex: the height of the cliff – 12 meters (5. floor) water depth – at least 4 meters

  4. 2. You have to check for rocks and other object in the water and at the cliff surface. • 3. Make sure you can swim well. • 4. Try jump not head down and when you hit the water, stretch your legs and arms out.

  5. History • Island Maui – (1770)Kahekili →→“lele kawa” = Jumpingoff high cliffs and entering the water feet first without a splash • To prove their courage and loyalty, the king forced his nakoa (warriors) to follow his example, jumping into the ocean Lele kawa

  6. Competition in Cliff diving • Cliff diving championships • - world and european • - sponsored by Red Bull • Points are awarded for style,tricks and water entry • European championships are always in Switzerland in Ponte Brolla (lake)
