A Turning Point: Nicole's Journey to Improved Hygiene

Nicole learns the importance of personal hygiene from her friend Ricardo, who encourages her to bathe and wear clean clothes. Motivated to share this newfound wisdom, she asks her teacher, Miss Jennings, to address the subject in health class, where fellow student Gabe also receives the message about hygiene. The dilemma of discussing a friend's poor hygiene is explored, as many find it challenging due to fear of upsetting them. Through courage and conversation, Nicole and her classmates embark on a journey of self-improvement, fostering a supportive environment for change.

  3. Would you find it difficult to discuss a friend’s poor hygiene? Explain why or why not. • Yes, it would be very difficult to discuss a friends poor hygiene because the friend might get upset.

  4. Nicole wanted to know why Ricardo would not sit by her. Why did she plan to wait and ask on the phone instead of asking him in person? • Because it was easier for her to get up the nerve to ask him over the phone than it would have been in person.
