  6. Course Grading • Six exams (one exam per section) • Highest 5 exam scores count • Exams are given via D2L • Attendance taken daily • 4 unexcused absences = 1 letter grade deduction

  7. Student Responsibilities • Attend class meetings • Read all assigned chapters prior to class • Take all examinations

Some Advice for Success • Don’t worry about your final grade in this class. • Focus on doing your best every day and on every assignment. • Spend time on this class outside of class. • We’re in class 3 hours/week, and you should spend another 2 hours/week (at least) if you want to succeed. • That doesn’t mean that you can wait and study 12 hours for the test and be OK.

Some Advice for Success, continued • Read the assigned chapters in the textbook. • I don’t have time to cover every informational item during lecture. • Review the optional material. • I’ll work as many examples as I can, but you need to practice and prove to yourself that you can do the problems (CONFIDENCE). • If I spend time on it, then it’s important.
