  2. 10-22-14 About the SMS Student Council Do you want to make a difference this year? Do you want school to be an even more fun and exciting place to be? The SMS School Student Council plans and organizes events for middle school students. ​ Who Can Participate? The SMS Student Council will consist of students in Grades 6-8. Members must complete an application.  At least one student from each Block classroom will be chosen, based on the eligibility requirements. The executive committee is then selected from the classroom representatives. ​We are looking for some dynamic, enthusiastic, diverse, and committed Middle School students to join the Student Council for this year.  2014-15 Student Council Application Timeline October 21st– Students may begin picking up packets from the office.October 28th at 3:45 pm – Deadline for submission of completed packet to the Office.    NO packets will be accepted after the deadline.Students will be notified about their selection by Nov. 3rd in 1st period. Completed packets due to the Officeby 3:45 pm, Tuesday, October 28th

  3. 10-22-14 Order your yearbook today! The price increases to $25 per book after October 31. If you’re uncertain whether you’ve ordered, see Ms. Souther or Ann.

  4. 10-22-14 FROM THE COUNSELOR 1.   Tell your favorite staff member how much you appreciate them by nominating them for STAFF OF THE MONTH.  You can find the nomination forms in the office.  It is a good way to let staff members know how you feel.2.   Peer Helpers meeting during the first 15 min. of lunch Today (Tues. 10/20).  Meet in Kristin's office ASAP.3.   Spirit Week is Nov. 3rd –7th, Peer helpers will be surveying your block classes for themes for each day.4. The library will be open on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays after the first bell at 9:05 rings for students to print homework.

  5. 10-22-14 Mt. Hood Youth Ski Program If you are interested in skiing with your friends this winter, sign up at skihood.com/go and enter the “Go code” of 1164069. This is on Sundays in January and February: January 11, 18, 25February 1, 8, 15 Get your friends together join in the fun!There are also postcards in the office.

  6. 10-22-14 LOST & FOUND Be sure to check the lost and found as soon as possible. Anything not picked up by this Friday, 10/24, will be sent to the PPS Clothing Closet.

  8. City Championship XC Meet • All students on the XC team will get out of class at 2:30 for their final meet @ Overlook park.
