  6. Classes • Classes will begin at 9:30 am and will continue till 3 pm. • There will be two half hour breaks plus lunch during the day. • Students may not be dropped off at the school before 8:30 am and must be picked up (if not riding bus or attending sports) by 3:30 pm. • Breakfast is not served until 8:30 am.

  7. Dress Code • Our students must dress appropriately and we are trusting the parents to comply with this rule. We expect shoulders and chest to be covered with shirts. Shorts and skirts must not be any shorter than 2 inches above the knee. We do not have a rule against shorts in the winter, we understand your clothes budget may be limited. • These rules apply to both boys and girls. • We love for the kids to express themselves in a decent manner.

  8. EMERGENCY SITUATIONS Schools are required by law to conduct fire drills to prepare everyone to leave the building in the event of a real emergency. When an alarm is sounded, students, teachers, office workers, and all other persons in the building are to leave as rapidly as possible without running. This must be accomplished in an orderly manner. Specific rules for each room in the building will be explained by the teachers. Once outside, students should move at least 100 feet away from the building and stay with his/her group. As soon as the “all clear” signal is given, students will return to the classroom and resume work. Students must follow the directions of any staff member without question. Students must remain quiet for the entirety of the fire drill. Everyone must treat the drill as a serious personal responsibility. (Copied from the ledgemont School District Handbook)

  9. Teachers • The teachers we have in our school system have completed the highest education needed to be your student’s teacher. • Our teachers must be at the school by 8 am and must stay till 4 pm. These hours are chosen so they are available to assist any students or parents if needed. • They can be contacted at their email address, home phone and their classroom. The email address and phone number will be provided for you. • You may contact them on their home phone in the evening during the week before 6 pm.

  10. Homework Policies • We encourage each student to reach their potential and in doing so we expect each student to complete their assigned homework each night. • Our teachers will not assign more than 5 hours worth of homework PER WEEK. • We expect the parent(s) to sign the student’s completed homework each night to ensure the student is completing their assignments and the parent(s) are involved with their child’s education.
