In 1990-1991, the inflation rate in Russia was very high and there was a shortage of supply in every industry. At the time, the GDP of Russia shows a decline of 17% and retail prices reached to 140%. The political conditions of Russia were also not good at this time. As a result, the Soviet Union was dissolved in 1991. After that, Boris Yeltsin was elected as the President of Russia.
