Join the IT Case Competition: Showcase Your Skills and Win Prizes!

Participate in the IT Case Competition where teams of 3-4 students tackle a real-world IT-related business problem presented by Travelers. Invited schools from Hartford, CT, and St. Paul, MN will engage in research and presentation preparation over half a day. Present your solution to a panel of executive judges for a chance to win monetary prizes and gain valuable exposure to employment opportunities. Students will learn about corporate challenges, while professors can build connections and gain insights into current industry trends.

  1. IT Case Competition Overview • Compete in teams of 3-4 to develop recommendations to an IT-related business problem presented by Travelers • Specially selected schools in the Hartford, CT and St. Paul, MN areas are invited to participate • Teams are given half a day to research the problem and prepare their presentation • During the second half of they day they present their solution to a panel of Travelers executive judges

Benefits • The Students: • Exposure to possible employment opportunities with Travelers • Learn about real corporate issues and industry trends • Monetary prizes! • The Professors: • Build relationships with Travelers • Exposure to current topics affecting corporations • Travelers: • Gain new perspectives on topics that affect the organization • Grow relationships with surrounding schools that are targeted for recruiting efforts

  4. Student Eligibility Requirements • Undergraduate MIS, CS, or other IT-related majors • Students with an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher • Students that are legally authorized to work in the United States on a full time basis

  5. Role of the Professor(s) • Escort students to Travelers campus in Hartford, CT or St. Paul, MN on the day of the competition • Optionally participate in workshops and focus groups with Travelers employees while the students are working • Observe all of the schools’ presentations and provide constructive feedback to your school’s team when you return to campus
