  2. Description • A self contained data logger that is able to record both • Temperature • Relative Humidity in a wide variety of applications • Uses temperature and humidity sensors with rugged qualities designed for minimal or no maintenance under normal operating conditions

  3. Channels • two input channels for an optional remote temperature and relative humidity probe • a plug-in RH sensor • an on-board thermistor temperature sensor

  4. Relative Humidity Sensor • The sensor is a processed plastic wafer • This wafer is actually a laser-trimmed, capacitive thin polymer film

  5. How RH Sensor Works • Changes in relative humidity cause the surface capacitance of the polymer film to vary • This capacitance is gauged by passing a small electric current through it and measuring the relative voltage drop

  6. RH Sensor and Temperature Compensation • Because the response of the sensor is temperature dependent, a temperature reading is always taken at the same time as the humidity reading • That way, when the logger's information is backed up into your computer, TrendReader Standard Software can automatically factor in the right compensation values when it calculates the percentage of relative humidity

  7. Result An accurate set of automatically-generated and temperature-compensated relative humidity readings

  8. RH Sensor Accuracyand Resolution • Accuracy ± 3% RH From 10 to 90% at -20 to 40° C (-4 to 104° F) • Resolution Better than 0.04% • between 25 and 60% RH • at 25° C (77° F)

  9. RH Sensor Response Time • Adequate ventilation reduces the response time which is approximately 5 minutes in still air

  10. RH Sensor Range 0 to 95% (non condensing)

  11. Accessories Two types of probes can be used: • EH-020A Temperature and Relative Humidity probe • ET Series Temperature probes

  12. EH-020A Temperature and RH probe The EH-020A is: • a four-wire probe with temperature and RH sensor • applicable for measurements between • -20 and 40° C (-4 and 104° F) • and • 10 to 90% RH

  13. EH-020A Connection • To connect the EH-020A probe simply insert the wires to the terminal block of your SR+2 • The length can be extended by using a 4 wire 24 gauge shielded cable

  14. ET Series Temperature probes • The ET Series of temperature sensors are NTC thermistor probes • Can be used for a wide range of temperatures
