  2. Morning Warm-UpDay 1 • Sometimes we need help when we’re working toward a goal or trying to solve a problem. • When should we work together? • When should we work alone.

  3. Plurals –s, -es, -ies • flagged - skating • Both these words have a base word, an ending, and a spelling change. • Today you’ll learn about endings for plurals, words that mean “more than one.”

  4. Plurals –s, -es, -ies • stars - wishes • To make words mean “more than one,” the ending –s or –es is added. • The ending –s is added to most words; -es is added to words that end in sh, ch, tch, s, ss, or x.

  5. Plurals –s, -es, -ies • city - cities • If a word ends in a consonant followed by a y, you will change the y to an i and add -es.
