  15. How can we live persuasively for christ? 2 Corinthians 4-6

  16. 2 Corinthians 5:11a Since, then, we know what it is to fear the Lord, we try to persuade others.

  17. How can we live persuasively? We must see life and ministry as a privilege 2 Cor. 4:1 Therefore, since through God’s mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart. The “I HAVE TO” mentality is unable to sustain us… The “I GET TO” mentality will sustain us for the long haul…

  18. How can we live persuasively? We must see life and ministry as a privilege 2 Cor. 5:14-1514 For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. 15 And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.

  19. How can we live persuasively? We must be genuinely obsessed with Christ 2 Cor. 4:5 For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. We talk obsessively about what we are obsessed with… Persuaded people persuade people…

  20. How can we live persuasively? We must cultivate joy in the Lord 2 Cor. 6:3-103 We put no stumbling block in anyone’s path, so that our ministry will not be discredited. 4 Rather, as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: in great endurance; in troubles, hardships and distresses; 5 in beatings, imprisonments and riots; in hard work, sleepless nights and hunger; 6 in purity, understanding, patience and kindness; in the Holy Spirit and in sincere love; 7 in truthful speech and in the power of God; with weapons

  21. How can we live persuasively? We must cultivate joy in the Lord of righteousness in the right hand and in the left; 8 through glory and dishonor, bad report and good report; genuine, yet regarded as impostors;9 known, yet regarded as unknown; dying, and yet we live on; beaten, and yet not killed; 10 sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, and yet possessing everything.

  22. How can we live persuasively? We must cultivate joy in the Lord “How can we bring back a healthy respect for the truth in the church? One way is to proclaim the truth wisely under the anointing of the Spirit. Another way is for leaders to faithfully live the Christian life and pay the price for doing so. We need leaders who are willing to give up comfort, convenience, and even a good name for the sake of truth. We need leaders who while suffering for the truth still maintain the joy of the Lord and thus testify to the greatness of the gospel they preach. Then people will conclude that if suffering does not take away our joy, the life of obedience to God is indeed the best way to live.” -Ajith Fernando in The Call to Joy and Pain

  23. How can we live persuasively? We must fix ourselves upon eternity 2 Cor. 4:13-1813 It is written: “I believed; therefore I have spoken.” Since we have that same spirit of faith, we also believe and therefore speak, 14 because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you to himself. 15 All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God. 16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though

  24. How can we live persuasively? We must fix ourselves upon eternity outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. “fix” = to observe, to contemplate, to fix one’s eyes upon, to direct one’s attention to

  25. How can we live persuasively? We must fix ourselves upon eternity “It’s hard for us to be content with the world that is, because all of us have an inclination to crave for what could be…So much of your distress at what is, is really a hunger for what will be…If we understood this reality and lived as if it were true, much of our discontent would disappear…We’reforever people who have lost sight of forever.” -Paul David Tripp in Forever: Why You Can’t Live Without It

  26. How can we live persuasively? We must meditate upon the Word Our lives really do depend upon it…
