Membership and Finances Membership: • Class of 2015- 30 • Class of 2014- 33 • Class of 2013- 39 __________________ • Total: 102 Financial Statement: As of Sept 1st, 2012, our bank balance stands at $647.88 As of August 31st, we have been allocated $530.oo for the entire year from our Student Government Association We were also recent recipients of PCOM’s Albert D’Alonzo grant, giving us an extra $250

  4. October 2011 Activities • Community Service Day at Pegasus Horse Barn and Riding Academy • Philadelphia Cares Day – cleaned up parks, assisted with painting schools, etc.

  6. January 2012 Activities • Martin Luther King Day of Service at Joseph C. Ferguson PreK-8 Elementary School through Temple University Community Learning Network

  7. February/March 2012 Activities • Hygiene for Kids presentation at Northern Home • Package and distribution of meals to Philabundance • University of the Sciences 7th Annual 5K Race for Humanity for the Livengrin Foundation for Addiction Recovery • Relay for Life

April 2012 Activities • Creation of blankets for Northern Home • Hayes Manor Spa Party at Greater Philadelphia Cares • Earth Day at BalaCynwyd Heritage Trail • Give Kids Sight Day at Wills Eye Institute • Montgomery Hospital Community Health Fair in Norristown, PA • PAWS Animal Shelter in Center City, Philadelphia

Changes for 2012-2013 • Collaboration with more clubs/organizations on PCOM campus • Northern Home Volunteering with the Pediatrics Club • Affordable Care Act presentation with SOMA and the DO Council • Stricter documentation of events, including pictures and follow-up reports • Continuation of successful service projects in years past along with promotion of new, diverse projects • Solidifying the definition of community service for clarification: “If you answer YES to any of these questions, the hours DO NOT count as community service: • Does the event only raise money towards a certain cause and not provide another service to the target population? • Does the event only target the PCOM community (defined as faculty, staff, and students that either work for or are students at PCOM)?”
