  2. General information on Pokemon In Pokemon you are a Pokemon trainer and you raise Pokemon to battle. You can also trade, compete in competitions, and many more! There are 493 Pokemon in existence. There are different Pokemon types and they can learn moves by leveling up. Pokemon get experience by beating other Pokemon in battles. They can level up and learn new moves. Pokemon can grow to level 100. then, they stop growing. They can evolve into other Pokemon when they hit certain levels. Not all Pokemon can evolve though. Pokemon evolve in millions of different ways. We teach Pokemon new moves by using TMs and HMs. A TM can only be used once and then it is used and won’t work. A Pokemon can only know 4 moves. HMs are moves that can be used to overcome obstacles. They can be used as many times as you want. Some Pokemon have super effective hits and sometimes Pokemon have ineffective hits. Super effective hits do twice the damage. A super effective move would be blast burn on a grass Pokemon. It would twice the damage on a grass Pokemon and normal amount on a flying Pokemon. But if you use blast burn on a water Pokemon it will do half as much damage. Strategy is very important when it comes to Pokemon!
