Data Access Strategies Reporting Database • Separate database designed for reporting and custom queries • Index optimization for querying • Data synced at regular intervals from transaction database Data Warehouse • Different schema designed for business intelligence • Data optimized for analytical purposes • Data synced at regular intervals from transaction database

Data Access Strategies Data Restore • Copy of the database is restored on a nightly basis • Database schema and indexes are identical to the transactional database Data Replication • Data changes are synced to the reporting database on regular intervals • Data is much more up to date then restore • Only data changes are moved
