  2. What is a Virus??? A Virus is something on your computer that will slow your computer down. You should have a piece of ‘Anti-viral software’ downloaded on your computer that allows you to track down if you have a virus when you want to. If you detect a virus on your computer after scanning it, you should press a button which will demolish all the viruses on your PC. Viruses can be found on your email account. If you recieve an email offering you something you don’t know about, you shouldn’t open it as it may give your computer a virus!!!!

  3. What Damage Can A Virus Do??? A virus can completely destroy your computer! Sometimes it might just slow your PC down however, at other times your computer can crash completely and break. To get your computer fixed after a virus CAN cost hundreds of pounds!!!!!!

How Can You Stop Yourself from Getting a Virus on Your Computer??? • Service your computer regularly • Scan your computer regularly • Don’t open suspicious email • Make sure that your computer is set to all the right settings so that your ‘Anti-viral software’ works properly • Make sure you have a piece of ‘Anti-viral software installed on your computer

Are there any drawbacks to using anti-virus software??? • Anti-viral software is expensive to buy. • It goes out of date very quickly because the people who create viruses try to out outsmart the new anti-viral software programs as soon as they are released. NEVER BE 100% SURE YOUR COMPUTER IS SAFE!!!!!

Hacking is attempted unauthorised access to your computer!!!! • Hackers are ordinary people who are either, bored, like boasting about hacking peoples’ account or are simply just criminals! • When hackers have hacked into your account, they can change everything on your computer, find out things that they think are important or take things that aren’t there to be taken! What Is Hacking??? What Is Hacking???

  11. What Damage Can Hackers Do??? If you have a password so that you can log on to your computer, hackers have to work out your password before they can hack your account. If you don’t then you are more likely to be hacked than people with passwords. As well as this, if you leave your computer on all night without a password, hackers can play around with your files all night and you won’t know about it. When hackers log on to your computer files, they can change your files which may affect your lifestyles by deleting work or homework files, they can claim or steal things they are not meant to or look at files that are top secret and not mean to be seen!

How Can You Stop Hackers Being Able To Get On YourComputer??? • Have a password so that you can log onto your computer! • Don’t leave your computer on all night (especially if you don’t have a password to log on) because hackers can play around or look at your files without you knowing. • If you have a password to log onto your computer, hackers have to work out your password before they can see your files.
