Introduction • A shrimp is important because people like eating shrimp. Pistol shrimp stay close to the water surface. A pistol shrimp has 10 pairs of legs 5 for walking 5 for holding it`s eggs until they hatch. Also the uropodmakes up part of the tail and makes the shrimp swim faster, so they can escape whales or an octupus. The pistol shrimp is best known for its enlarged claw.
Babies • Pistol shrimp can lay hundreds and thousands of eggs at the same time.
Habitat • They live in the Atlantic, Pacific and the Indian oceans. They also live in the Gulf of Mexico and the Gulf of California.Also the pistol shrimp lives on the ocean floor.
Differences • There is difference between an arrow shrimp and a pistol shrimp. An arrow shrimp is smaller than a pistol shrimp. A pistol shrimp is two inches more than an arrow shrimp. There is a shrimp called an arrow shrimp it has a very spiky rostrum.
Diet • Pistol shrimp eat tiny small shrimp . The pistol shrimp snack is sushi. Also the pistol shrimp has a major claw and it snaps like a pistol that is why it`s pistol shrimp. Pistol shrimp spies a small shrimp roaming all around and the pistol shrimp opens it`s major claw and eats the sushi.
Conclusion • They are also invertebrates. Pistol shrimp are marine sea creatures. There family’s name of a pistol shrimp is called Alpheidae. Also shrimp do not breath air they breath water. And one more thing about shrimp there are 140 different kinds of shrimp. I picked this animal because I love eating shrimp.
