  5. LETTER-ESSAY • Write a rejection letter to a wrong answer choice who doesn’t understand why it is not the best answer for the question stem. Your rejection letter should include enough detail so that when a person not from our class reads it, he or she will able to tell exactly why the wrong answer choice was rejected as the best answer. • Dear Answer Choice __________, • I regret to inform you that… CCTA College Success Department

  6. GALLERY WALK/3-2-1 • Each group looks at the other group’s visual by using the 3-2-1 protocol: • 3 things we learned • 2 things that surprised us • 1 question we still have CCTA College Success Department

  7. TEXT RENDERING First Round: Each person shares a sentence from the document that he/she thinks/feels is particularly significant. Second Round: Each person shares a phrase that he/she thinks/feels is particularly significant. Third Round: Each person shares the word that he/she thinks/feels is particularly significant. The group discusses what they learned about the text, shares the words that emerged and any new insights about the document. The group debriefs the text rendering process, and creates a visual that shows their collective thinking. CCTA College Success Department

In your dialogue journal, write to a member of your team and talk about everything you have learned about the Research Summary and Student Data Tables and predict what kind of questions will be asked. Be prepared to share out your response or to respond to your partner’s journal entry. CCTA College Success Department

  10. Collaborative Group Work: Letter- Essay • On chart paper, write down your best response to the first question stem. Be prepared to discuss and defend your response. • With your group pick the best answer, and be prepared to justify your selection to the class. • Next, you will get one of the answer choices and you must justify why yours is the best or worst answer. • With your group, pick the best answer choice and present your justification to the class. • Now pick the worst answer and write a rejection letter to it, explaining in detail the reason for the rejection. • Exchange rejection letters with another group. Then comment on that group’s rejection letter. • Be prepared to debrief on the collaborative group activity. CCTA College Success Department
