    3. Why is attachment important?

    4. Research indicates correlations between secure mother-child attachments and… Academic competence (Wood, 2007) Attention, Security about Self, Grade Point Average (Jacobsen & Hoffman, 1997) Ability to delay gratification (Fendrich, Huss Jacobsen, Kruesi & Ziegenhain, 1997). Increased Social Functioning/Decreased Social Anxiety (Bohlin, Haegkull, & Rydell, 2000)

    5. Increased symptoms of depression and anxiety (Adabel & Hankin, 2009) Increased aggressive behaviors. (Gomez & McLaren, 2007)
