  8. Create your own Koons inspired artwork! • Research & brainstorm in small groups to select your subject matter • Create your group sculpture using paper mache • Create your paper mache form using the following materials: balloons, cardboard boxes, plastic bottles, masking tape, newspaper, etc. Don’t use too much tape, the paper mache will not stick. • Prepare your paper mache paste: Mix either 1 part water and 1 part flour OR 1 part water and 2 parts glue. Make sure your paste is not too lumpy (it should be a consistency of thick glue).

  9. Create your own Koons inspired artwork! • Tear newspaper into strips (do not cut strips). • Dip one piece of newspaper at a time into prepared paper mache paste. • Hold the strip over the paste bowl and run it through your fingers to squeeze off excess paste. • Stick the newspaper strip over the form you want to paper mache, and smooth it down with your fingers. • Completely cover your creation with a layer of newspaper strips. They should all be overlapping (try to lay strips going in various directions).

  10. Create your own Koons inspired artwork! • After one layer is applied, (let it dry about 24 hours) add another layer of newspaper strips and let dry another 24 hours. • Three layers should be made out of newspaper, and the final fourth layer should be made out of white paper towels or computer paper. • After the project has completely dried paint it using iridescent paint
