  3. Permissions and Clearances After you have formed your idea, you need to ensure that the locations are suitable for your purpose, that you can obtain permission, if necessary, to work at the location, and that you are aware of any risks and health and safety issues that may be present. You need a location release form for this.Failure to get location release forms means that owners of a location could decide that they don’t want to let you use images of their location and this could have a serious effect on the product- scenes could have to be reshot or key scenes might have to be removed.

  5. Location Recce A location Recce stands for production reconnaissance, visiting locations pre shooting to work out their suitability for shooting. This includes, safety, access, facilities and assessment of potential lighting and sound issues (if any).

  6. Take pictures of all potential shooting locations giving a short write up of all factors attached to the location that will be important for shooting. Next break it down into more detail explaining each different thing and how you intend to fix these potential problems (if any) for you production. Finally (to be done when production is finished) write how you went about achieving this and if you were successful in solving these problems to the production.

  7. Risk Assessment Risk assessment is the determination of quantitative or qualitative value of risk related to a concrete situation and a recognized threat (also called hazard). Quantitative risk assessment requires calculations of two components of risk(R):, the magnitude of the potential loss (L), and the probability (p) that the loss will occur. Acceptable risk is a risk that is understood and tolerated usually because the cost or difficulty of implementing an effective countermeasure for the associated vulnerability exceeds the expectation of loss.
