  1. Classification, etc. status at UW • New application to apply trees to existing tuple • Background rejection for the v7r2 “500M” run at SLAC”: first look at v7r3. T. Burnett

  2. Application of boosted trees • New application in GlastClassify package: apply • Adds or replaces tuple values with recalculated “CT” variables • CTgoodCal • CTvertex • CTgoodPsf • CTgamma • CTgammaType • Code and tree data tagged, in GlastRelease. root [2] t.Print("CT*") ****************************************************************************** *Tree :MeritTuple: Glast tuple * *Entries : 2561797 : Total = 3177205466 bytes File Size = 1533597317 * * : : Tree compression factor = 2.07 * ****************************************************************************** *Br 0 :CTgoodCal : CTgoodCal/D * *Entries : 2561797 : Total Size= 20562918 bytes File Size = 1436513 * *Baskets : 642 : Basket Size= 32000 bytes Compression= 14.30 * *............................................................................* *Br 1 :CTvertex : CTvertex/D * *Entries : 2561797 : Total Size= 20562270 bytes File Size = 881183 * *Baskets : 642 : Basket Size= 32000 bytes Compression= 23.31 * *............................................................................* *Br 2 :CTgoodPsf : CTgoodPsf/D * *Entries : 2561797 : Total Size= 20562918 bytes File Size = 7866711 * *Baskets : 642 : Basket Size= 32000 bytes Compression= 2.61 * *............................................................................* *Br 3 :CTgamma : CTgamma/D * *Entries : 2561797 : Total Size= 20561622 bytes File Size = 1407513 * *Baskets : 642 : Basket Size= 32000 bytes Compression= 14.59 * *............................................................................* *Br 4 :CTgammaType : CTgammaType/D * *Entries : 2561797 : Total Size= 20564214 bytes File Size = 2332929 * *Baskets : 642 : Basket Size= 32000 bytes Compression= 8.80 * *............................................................................* T. 3. Effect of boosting • train_efficiency: single tree. Train on UW v7r2 background runs • test_efficiency: after boosting 10 times, v2r2 SLAC v7r2 runs T. Burnett

  4. SLAC v7r2 “500M” livetime: • Simply count the runs that have data. • Note: the number of events per run, or second, is less than the down-link rate (~550 Hz) due to the “prune”. • Above gives 8753 seconds T. Burnett

  5. Current status of UW background rejection Fails science requirement T. Burnett

  6. New “500 M” v3r3 run – 7516 s Fails science requirement T. Burnett

  7. Conclusions, plans • The “500M” runs are enough to check science requirement out to ~30 GeV • With Tracy, about to restore “IM” variables, when Bill finishes new trees. (Need to decide on names) • Will retrain the boosted trees using v7r3, new variables • Need to verify energy and psf cuts, start psf fits (just a button push for TB or Jim) • When Riccardo gives us his trees, we can make 3-way comparison T. Burnett
