  2. Standards • G: Spreadsheet Software Applications G1: Define spreadsheet terminology (cell, row, column, range, label, value, formula, function, worksheet, relative, absolute, and legend). G2: Enhance worksheets by insetting, deleting, moving, and copying columns and rows.

  3. Objective • TSWBAT: Use Excel to create a worksheet using formulas

  4. Agenda • Warm-up : • Label the parts of an Excel worksheet • Review/discuss merging cells, adjust column width, height, format tables, add charts, and graphs • Review • Daily Activities:

  5. Mouse Pointer Characteristics Select Move Copy

  6. Working with Spreadsheets • Open SS2 page 446 • In cell D4 write the label “Total” and write a formula to calculate the cost • Copy the formula down to D11 • In cell A13 key the label “Total” • In cell D13 use the auto sum function to calculate the total cost

  7. Merging Cells • Select cells A1-D1 • Click the Merge Cell Icon • Format 24 points and bold • Select cells A2-D2 • Click Merge Cell Icon • Format 22 points and bold • Center labels in cell A4-D4

  8. Working with Spreadsheets • Click cell A13 write the label “Total” • Click cell D13 write a formula to calculate the total cost • Click cell A4 and click the format button • Change the row height • Select cell A4 through D13 • Click “format as a table button” • Select a style

  9. Creating Graphs and Charts • Never select totals!!!!! • Select cells A4 – C11 • Click insert button • Click column button • Select 3D Column Cylinder • Chart appears • Chart tool ribbon tab appears for formatting

  10. Today’s Activity • Page 455 Activity 10, 11, and 12. • Print SS9 • Print SS1-B (Friday’s Activity) • Print formula pg also

  11. Activity (Friday) • Create the spreadsheet on page 444 of your text book and save it as SS1. Do not key values for Total Sales and Average Sales • Use formulas to calculate total and average sales • Follow the instructions in your textbook page 444 for Activity 4 • Complete Activity 5, 6, and 7
