Online Payments • Changed fee plan with our online credit card processor (Click & Pledge) • Previously 4.50% + 0.35 per transaction + $5/mo • New 2.85% + 0.27 per transaction + $25/mo • Approx. $160K in cc’s, savings of $1,500-2,500/yr (depends on AmEx) • American Express • C&P + AmEx fees: 4.89% + 0.50 -- unchanged • Encourage using different card in communications and checkout • Square swipe for one time payments (2.75%) • Online is convenient and increases participation, but consider using a check, if possible

This year we have a fun and personalized way to encourage friends and family to support the Mayer Walkathon by creating your own web page where they can go to donate. You can upload a photo, add a personal message*, and set a fundraising goal. Then follow along to see how much has been donated through your page. Just follow these easy steps: Go to the FOM Click & Act page https://www.clickandact.com/org/15298 Click ‘Become a Fundraiser’ Complete the Member Registration and Click & Act will email you a password To customize your page and set a fundraising target: Login, click ‘My Profile’, then click Friends of Mayer under ‘Organizations That I Support’ Send your page to friends and family by emailing and posting on your social networking sites the following link, with your Username inserted: https://www.clickandact.com/Pages/InsertUsernameHere/15298 Send FOM a message that you’re registered - email Dave Lewin with your Username and your child’s name and classroom You’re done!   24. T-Shirt Update Front of the t-shirt design contest was open to all students this year Company logos for the back of the shirt are due by March 16. Companies that give $1,000 or more are able to go on the shirt Shirts will arrive the week of the walkathon and Leah Talmers will send a note to help with sorting for the classrooms 24

  33. You Have The Power To Positively Influence Mayer Magnet • The FOM board is elected by the Mayer Magnet School community. • Eleven members on the board. • Members serve a one-year term. • Term of office runs from July 1, 2012 – June 30, 2013.

  34. Being a Board Member is a Commitment Being a board member means making a commitment to: Attending monthly meetings Fundraising Allocating the discretionary funds at the group’s disposal. It also means hands-on involvement in one or more ongoing FOM initiatives. 34

  36. The Election Process is Simple Elections (and all associated processes) take place on April 25, 2012 at the regularly scheduled April FOM meeting. 36

  37. First, We Learn About The Candidates Each candidate permitted to make a 2-3 minute speech If a candidate cannot be present, a written communication may be issued on his or her behalf Up to 20 minutes for question and answer from attendees 37

  39. Next, We Vote Everyone present may vote…no absentee ballots. You may run for a Board spot without being present at the meeting, but you cannot vote without being present. Votes are cast by secret ballot.  Vote for up to 11 FOM Board members. Votes are counted after the meeting by a neutral party.  All candidates are permitted to stay to oversee the counting of votes. 39

  40. Finally, The New Board Organizes Itself In accordance with the by-laws, actual positions within the organization (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, etc.) are voted on by the FOM Board after election. 40
