  2. How does rubber go from latex to a solid shape? • Rubber trees grow best in hot , moist climates. Workers called tappers collect the latex. The tappers cut a shallow groove in the bark abut one metre long from the bottom of the ground. • At the bottom of the cut, a small spout is inserted into then tree and a cup hangs below it to catch the drops of latex that oozes from the cut.

  3. How does rubber go from latex to a solid shape 2? • Trees are generally tapped every 15 days, then rested for 15 days. • It takes about 6 years before a rubber tree can be tapped. • Liquid latex is now shipped to factories where the rubber is made by machines. It can be cloured and made into many products. The latex is poured into tanks, and an equal amount of water is added. • This liquid is strained to remove dirt. Formic acid is added to make the mixture form solid particles, which rise to the surface to form a crust of rubber.

  4. How does rubber go from latex to a solid shape 3? • This is fed through rollers to squeeze out the water to make a solid sheet of rubber. This rubber is crude rubber, and is ready to be shipped to factories to be processed in different ways to make many different products.

  5. How does rubber tree farming impact the enviorment? • It is bad and good for the enviorment because to make a plantation you have to destroy lots of the enviorment • And in the good way you re-plant some of the rubber trees • Another good thing about it, it produces rubber for us
