  6. SCRIBBLEANDNIBBLE A Scribble at play will last you the day!

  7. What is Scribble and Nibble? How have we made art edible? We have replaced paper with rice paper and paint with ‘fruit paint’. Using a brush, you create a painting. Once it’s finished, you can eat it! Scribble and Nibble is the ultimate edible art – imagine being able to eat your own paintings.

  8. What do we suggest you paint? Liverpool of course! Who can enjoy Scribble and Nibble? Everyone from 4 months old onwards.

  9. Proud of our City! We wanted to show how proud of our city we are. We have tried to inspire our customers to paint pictures of some of the things that make Liverpool special by having Liverpool pictures on our advertising posters and stalls.

  10. Our flavours! We sent out a questionnaire to find out which flavours pupils would like. We had lots of requests and we are going to try them all! These include: • Raspberry • Strawberry and blueberry • Mixed berries We even had a few ideas of our own such as: • Apple and mango • Kiwi

  11. Looking after our Planet As a team, we think being eco-friendly is important. When children have finished with their paint pots we ask them to put them in a recycle tray. The pots are washed, by the school kitchens, so we can re-use them. Paintbrushes are also washed and re-used. Fruit waste is composted.

  12. Working with the Community We have been working with the Dunbabin Allotment Association – we give them our fruit waste, for composting, and they will pay us, during the summer months, with fresh fruit. Scribble and Nibble are proud to be sponsored by Thompson Decorators. SL Decorators have also agreed to sponsor us. They are going to help us with our advertising.

  13. The Launch We decided to launch our business at the Parent Consultation Evening because we knew that all of the parents and most of the children would be attending. We put posters up around school, sent flyers home and sent text messages to all of the parents, using the school text system. We decided to market our product at 40p. For this, the customer gets a sheet of rice paper and a pot of ‘fruit paint’. Customers can also buy additional pots of ‘fruit paint’ for 20p.

  14. It was a HUGE success…

  15. We took £124… And the feedback we got was FANTASTIC!

  16. Feedback! “I’d pay £1000 pounds for it!” “The best thing I’ve ever had!” “I really like the idea!!!” “I love it, it’s fab!” “It’s delicious!” “It’s unique in design, it’s a taste sensation!” “I loved it – it made a better snack than the usual!    “I’d give it 10 stars!”

  17. How have we built on the launch success? We now sell Scribble and Nibble every Friday, at morning play. We take approximately £30 each week. This has been very successful… Many of the children have asked if we can sell Scribble and Nibble EVERY DAY!

  18. Next steps… To improve our advertising campaign by creating new posters and using the school website more effectively. To share our product with the wider community – we have a visit planned to a local nursery. We would also like to visit a care home for the elderly. We are also looking into the possibility of attending summer fetes at local schools and community centres. Designing packaging so that we can sell our product in shops.

  19. We hope that you enjoyed our presentation. Thank you for listening.
