  2. Achievement • For the 2012 and 2013 CRT testing years, the district average and school scores will be above the state proficiency average for language arts, math, and science. • 4 student per teacher change will meet the goal.

  3. Achievement By the 2014 CRT testing year, Ogden will have the highest CRT proficiency scores of districts on the Wasatch Front. • This is a 33% increase from where we are now. • This is an average of 6 more students making AYP per teacher.

  4. Achievement • Every student enrolled in the district for a minimum of 160 days will make at least one year’s growth as measured on state CRT exams beginning with the 2012 CRT scores • New report cards will be issued for each school this year: 50% proficiency & 50% growth. • New growth will be based on an individual calculation of a student growth curve.

  5. Achievement • 90% of high school graduates will complete at least two years of post-secondary college or career training beginning in May 2015 • Instill belief • Skill ready

  6. Achievement • 95% of kindergarten through third grade students will be at grade level in reading by May 2013. • Current rates: • Kinder 75% • 1st 52% • 2nd 52% • 3rd 49%

  7. Attendance • Each school will maintain an average attendance above 93%. • Current attendance rate: • K-8 94% • 10-12 85%

  8. Graduation • The district cohort graduation rate, as calculated by the state, will exceed 90% by the 2012-13 school year. • Current district-wide rate: 70% • Based on a cohort rate of about 800 students • 160 more students are needed to graduate district-wide. • That is about 14 students per year per grade.

  9. Enrollment • Student/parent choice into district enrollment will exceed choice out of the district system by the 2013-14 school year. • Current choice out of district: 1398 students • Choice equates to lost revenue of over $4 million • Need: retain students, attract outside students

  10. Participation • 90% of students will participate yearly in some form of extra-curricular activity or performance by 2014. • All students will participate in community service yearly by May 2013. • Where are we? Need documentation

  11. Standards • 80% of students will master concepts during tier one instruction. • Students not mastering concepts during initial instruction will participate in tier two interventions. • What will this look like? • This alone will help us meet achievement goals.

  12. Commitment • Every student can learn, succeed and excel in our schools. • We will make no excuses for student performance. • We are committed to a new birth of commitment and education excellence in our district. • It will take courage, hope and commitment • We know that history is not destiny
